This job role is based in Ipswich. Onsite (5 days office based). Monday-Friday 37.5 hours per week. You will need to be eligible to obtain DV Security Clearance before starting this role. You will need to have lived in the UK for 10+ years to be eligible.
What you'll be doing
As a Cyber Security Operations Specialist in Cyber Processing and Data Science, you will be doing:

Data Analysis. Conduct comprehensive analysis of complex problems by planning, executing, and reporting on findings. Document the analytical process clearly, including research, planning, and execution stages. Leverage big data tools to query and integrate data from multiple sources. Develop and apply novel analytical tradecraft and a critical mindset to uncover insights.

Report Writing. Produce clear, timely, and actionable reports based on analytical findings. Effectively communicate complex technical issues and limitations to both technical and non-technical audiences. Ensure clarity by distinguishing between facts and opinions. Adhere to all information handling policies and procedures.

Technical leadership. Maintain subject matter expertise in your analytical or technical domain. Take the lead on complex analytical challenges and technical issues when appropriate. Collaborate and innovate with colleagues and stakeholders. Contribute to team growth by sharing knowledge, mentoring peers, and providing constructive feedback.

Relationship building. Build and maintain strong relationships with analytical stakeholders to ensure a deep understanding of their analytical domain, requirements, and challenges. Engage regularly to assess the relevance and impact of your analysis.

What we'd like to see on your CV

Data Analysis. You will be skilled in using programming/scripting languages such as SQL, Python, Scala, R and bash. You may have used these skills to operate big data platforms and queried a diverse range of data types.

Analytical Mindset. You will be skilled in using your analytical mindset to derive meaning from data, challenge assumptions, analyse competing hypothesis and assess alternative explanations. You may have used these skills in responding to an incident or investigating a complex problem.

Networking. You will have knowledge of networking concepts such as ports and protocols, the OSI model, TCP/IP suite, routing, subnetting etc. You may have experience using packet analysis tools, intrusion detection systems, SIEM platforms and threat intelligence platforms.

Cyber or related field. You will have applied your analytical skills in environments such as cyber security, signalling, digital forensics, or network administration. Your experience might include areas like threat hunting, incident response, malware analysis, digital forensics, communications data analysis or open-source intelligence (OSINT) research.
