Site Reliability Engineer

to join our Technology Department. We are looking for a highly driven, talented and experienced Engineer who manages and develops high quality software applications.

The role will be based at our new, additional, technology site in Alicante, Spain. Backed by over 1,700 technologists worldwide based across our three key technology centres \u2013 our primary technology hub in Geneva (Switzerland), supported by Madrid (Spain), and Malm\u00f6 (Sweden), and powered by one of Europe's largest IoT platforms, we're building something big, and we're just getting started in Alicante.

You'll be joining the \u00a0 Installation and Maintenance (IMA)*

team, which plays a key role in ensuring the technical and operational success of our alarm systems. This department supports the full lifecycle of alarm installation\u2014from preparing customer data and technical plans, to enabling remote diagnostics and maintenance through backend systems.*

A central focus of this team is the development and support of the \u00a0 mobile application used daily by Verisure's installation and maintenance technicians . This app is not customer-facing; instead, it enables technicians to verify device connectivity, assess signal quality, perform diagnostics, and ensure that every alarm system is installed and maintained to the highest standards.

You'll contribute to the development of secure, scalable, and performant backend services that power this technician app and integrate with internal operational platforms. Your work will help ensure that every installed alarm system is fully functional, connected, and optimized.

Responsibilities will include:

\u00b7 To actively work on increasing our platform availability, resilience and reliability.

\u00b7 To understand the service operation, business processes and the software and network architecture of the IoT integration platform, to identify problems between services, signal events, communications, etc.

\u00b7 To provide continuous improvement measures and implementations to increase service availability, reduce MTTR and increase automation to avoid manual errors through all the delivery pipeline and operational activities.

\u00b7 To collaborate as a security level in the L2 shifts in case of complex go-live events or critical incidents.

\u00b7 To collaborate with development teams to ensure smooth integration and delivery of software.

\u00b7 To automate and manage development, pre-release and production environments. Create and enhance scripts, collaborate on legacy systems migration.

\u00b7 To enhance observability: Implement and maintain monitoring and logging systems to ensure availability and optimal performance of business processes, applications and services

u00b7 Master, B.A in Computer Engineer or Telecommunications.

\u00b7 High level of English (B2 or higher).

\u00b7 At least 5 years of experience in IT.

\u00b7 Knowledge and Experience in:

o Observability and monitoring (ELK, Grafana)

o Manage SRE metrics: SLI (Service Level Indicators), SLO (Service Level Objectives), MTTR (Mean Time to Recovery), latency, error rates, and availability

o Knowledge of DevOps practices and principles

o Solid knowledge of Linux operating systems and server administration

o Experience managing production and pre-production environments based on hybrid On Premise and Cloud environments

o Knowledge of virtualization and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Docker, Kubernetes

o Knowledge of MongoDB

o Message brokers (pub/sub): rabbitMQ, Kafka,\u2026

o Secured Communications:

o Automatization and scripting (Bash, Phyton or Java)

o Knowledge in the use of configuration management tools such as Ansible, Puppet or Chef

o Basic networking knowledge (NAT, addressing, BIGIP \u2013 Load Balancers, etc).

o Knowledge in AWS cloud services

Highly valued qualifications:

\u00b7 Knowledge of Prometheus and Datadog

\u00b7 Experience in Microservices Architectures.

\u00b7 Event Driven and Event Streaming Architectures

\u00b7 Distributed System Design/Development

\u00b7 DevOps Certifications

\u00b7 Knowledge and experience in software development methodologies, version control tools, continuous integration/deployment (GIT, Maven, Jenkins, Artifactory, JUnit, Jmeter and SOAPui).
