Job description
We are looking for a Business Data Scientist who combines deep statistical expertise with pragmatic business judgment. You are skilled at guiding teams through complex regulatory requirements and designing transparent, explainable, and auditable analytics. If you enjoy consulting, working autonomously, and leveraging modern data platforms to deliver actionable insights, this role is for you., * Regulatory Compliance: Shaping the approach to the EU Pay Transparency Directive (articles 7 and 9) across the Netherlands and other EU countries.
- Audit Readiness: Establishing reproducible analysis pipelines and method notes that ensure all pay equity decisions are transparent and defensible.
- Actionable Insights: Converting complex statistical findings into business-relevant recommendations that drive fair and consistent pay decisions., * Design Methodologies: Develop statistically sound methods to assess pay equity and explain pay decisions using GLMs, GLMMs, and Oaxaca-Blinder decomposition.
- Ensure Transparency: Employ explainable approaches (interpretable models, sensitivity analyses) and maintain rigorous documentation of assumptions and limitations.
- Build Data Pipelines: Adhere to reproducibility standards using version-controlled code and repeatable pipelines on Azure-based tooling (Databricks).
- Consult & Advise: Act as a statistical consultant to EU subsidiaries, framing trade-offs and documenting decisions with full traceability.
- Reporting: Deliver annual pay transparency reports and insights for both the Netherlands and broader EU regions.
Requirements
Do you have experience in Spark?, Do you have a Master's degree?, * 5+ years in data science, analytics, or statistical consulting applied to complex business problems.
- Proven track record in statistical modeling: GLMs, GLMMs, Oaxaca-Blinder decomposition, quantile regression, propensity scoring, and permutation tests.
- Hands-on experience with Azure tooling (Databricks), Git-based version control, and scalable frameworks (Spark).
- Experience in statistical reporting for regulatory compliance (e.g., EU directives) is highly preferred.
Profile
- Advanced Academic Background: MSc or PhD in a quantitative field is highly valued.
- Certifications: Databricks Certified Data Analyst Associate (or willingness to obtain within one month).
- Technical Consultant: Ability to advise stakeholders, frame trade-offs, and document decisions clearly.
- Problem Solver: Independent, proactive, and comfortable with ambiguity and iterative refinement.
- Communicator: Excellent ability to explain complex findings to diverse stakeholders.
