Senior Software Engineer (ML/AI services, Python)

We are looking for a Senior AI Engineer to play a key role in building the core of our AI platform. In this position, you will design and develop production-grade systems that power intelligent automation, agentic workflows, and large-scale retrieval services. This is a highly technical, hands-on role that involves close collaboration with product and platform teams to transform advanced AI concepts into reliable, scalable, and secure solutions used across our enterprise ecosystem. You will also be responsible to:

Design, build, and enhance AI services and APIs powering our Workato products, leveraging LLMs and custom ML models.

Develop an enterprise grade agentic platform, knowledge retrieval services, multi-agent collaboration

Develop agentic evaluation framework, defining success metrics and criteria, leveraging LLM-as-judge approach

Working with data scientists and data engineers to define requirements for fine-tunes models and capturing eval datasets

Develop well-architected, testable, and efficient Python code for production services and experimentations.

Implement and improve validation, monitoring, and observability for production-grade solutions.

Drive the full development lifecycle: from ideation and architecture to deployment and continuous improvement.

Identify and resolve bottlenecks, bugs, and technical challenges in a fast-paced, iterative environment.

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Science or equivalent industry experience.

5+ years of experience as a Software Engineer, Data Scientist, or similar role.

Strong Python programming skills and hands-on experience with NLP and LLM models.

Proven track record of deploying and maintaining AI services in production environments.

Experience with open-source agentic frameworks (e.g., LangGraph, Google ADK) and vector databases.

Knowledge of agentic architectures and multi-agent systems; experience building chat-based agents or copilots.

Experience with relational and non-relational databases.

Preferred skills

Familiarity with observability best-practices

Experience building or supporting developer platforms

Solid understanding of network protocols, API design, distributed architecture Soft Skills / Personal Characteristics

Strong written and spoken English; ability to communicate complex ideas clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
