API Engineer - REST Design & Governance

You will lead the design, governance, and strategic adoption of APIs, ensuring quality, security, and alignment between business and technology. Your work will empower teams and promote APIs as key business enablers. Your responsibilities will include:

• Design and document APIs using Swagger, AsyncAPI, or RAML, ensuring scalability and consistency.
• Govern the full API lifecycle: versioning, monitoring, documentation, and deprecation.
• Implement quality validation, automation, and CI/CD pipelines for API development.
• Promote API adoption through workshops and evangelization, bridging business and technology.
• Manage API platforms in cloud or hybrid environments, including security policies and usage metrics.

We're looking for a proactive and detail-oriented engineer passionate about designing and governing high-quality APIs that connect business and technology. Ideally, you bring:

• 4+ years of hands-on experience in API design , definition, and governance.
• Proficiency in Java, Kotlin, or Python (at least one is mandatory).
• Strong knowledge of API documentation standards and tools (Swagger, AsyncAPI, RAML).
• Experience with lifecycle management, CI/CD pipelines, and automation.
• Advanced security implementation: OAuth, JWT, IdP, certificates, and mTLS.
• Ability to lead workshops and evangelize API best practices across teams.
• Fluency in English and Spanish.
