Job description
We seek a skilled Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to manage, monitor and optimise our OpenStack environment and data services, ensuring seamless ben performance and user experience across BSC's research community. The successful candidate will improve generic behoeften of Data Services with AI tools, plan deployment of new services and contribute to a robust, secure, scalable Data Management platform. Key Duties
- Manage and maintain OpenStack infrastructure, providing support to users implementing their projects.
- Monitor and troubleshoot to ensure high-availability of data-management services.
- Configure, manage and optimise data services running in OpenStack.
- Implement best practices for big-data processing and security.
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitLab. Provide technical support and guidance to BSC support teams and users for configuring and adopting_frequency of BSC data services.
- Introduce AI tools to improve and optimise data services and user experience.
- Design and direct projects for the growth of current Data Management services in collaboration with Data Managers of BSC departments.
- Contribute to the writing of papers, reports, documentation and funding proposals.
- Coordinate and supervise the work of other engineers on technical data-management projects., * A cover/motivation letter stating the desired area and topics (in English).

The selection will be carried out through a competitive examination system ("Concurso-Oposición") consisting of two phases:
- Curriculum Analysis: 40 points leey credential background, education and training.
- Interview Phase: 60 points, evaluated by departmental and HR panels. A minimum of 30 points out of 60 is required for eligibility. The panel has at least three members, with at least 25 % female representation. letzter

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Informatics or related fields.
- Master's degree in Data Science or a related field is a plus.
Essential Knowledge & Professional Experience
- Experience with OpenStack.
- Experience with IaC tools (Terraform, Ansible).
- Good understanding of networking and security.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitLab).
Additional Knowledge & Professional Experience
- Familiarity with Docker, Prometheus, Grafana.
- Knowledge of agile and DevOps practices.
- Professional experience in frontend services design.
- Fluent written and verbal communication in English.
- Fluent written and verbal communication in Spanish.
Competences
- Strong scripting and problem-solving skills.
