Job description

We are looking for aBackend Engineer to join our fast-growing telemedicine platform and help design, build, and maintain scalable, high-performance backend systems. This is a hands-on role where you will take ownership of critical services, develop new features, and ensure the stability and efficiency of our backend architecture. You'll work withPHP, Laravel, PostgreSQL, and AWS, collaborating closely with frontend, QA, product, and DevOps teams to deliver seamless, high-quality healthcare solutions. In this role, you'll have the opportunity to make architectural decisions, implement performance optimizations, and support integration with third-party APIs. You will also be responsible for debugging complex issues, automating tests, and improving CI/CD pipelines to ensure fast and reliable releases. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented problem solver who thrives in a fast-paced, remote-first environment and enjoys working across teams to create scalable systems that directly impact patient care. Design, develop, optimize, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs. Investigate and resolve production issues to maintain system reliability and performance. Build and maintain integrations with third-party APIs and internal tools. Write and maintain automated tests and integrate them into CI/CD pipelines. Monitor system performance and proactively address potential issues. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure code quality and smooth deployments. Participate in code reviews, documentation, and continuous process improvements. Contribute to architectural discussions and technical decision-making.

Requirements

3+ years of experience working withPHP and Laravel. Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience. Strong knowledge ofSQL databases(preferably PostgreSQL). Proficient withRESTful APIsand API testing automation. Experience withGitand collaborative workflows (GitHub). Familiarity withCI/CD pipelinesand test automation. Experience usingDockerfor development and deployment. Knowledge ofmonitoring tools(Rollbar, CloudWatch, etc.) andAWSor similar cloud platforms. Excellent troubleshooting and debugging skills.
