DevOps Engineer - 6 months - Hybrid - Sheffield

We're looking for a senior engineer to own and evolve our Jenkins Shared Library, which powers multi-language builds across the organization (Java/Maven, Node/NPM, Python, Helm, Terraform, and containers). You'll play a key role in delivering fast, secure, provenance-rich pipelines-strengthening software supply-chain integrity through SLSA, SBOMs, cryptographic digests, and security automation used by many teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain reusable Groovy-based Jenkins pipeline steps for build, test, package, scan, and deploy workflows
• Extend and maintain Python tooling for SLSA provenance, SBOM generation (CycloneDX), digest accuracy, and security scan aggregation
• Integrate and aggregate results from SonarQube, Sonatype IQ, SAST, and container scanning tools
• Optimize pipeline performance through parallel execution, intelligent caching, dependency prefetching, and reduced BOM scope
• Ensure artifact integrity and traceability, including correct SHA1/SHA256 mapping, reproducible inputs, and evidence modeling

Required Skills & Experience

• 7+ years of software engineering experience, including 3+ years in CI/CD platforms or DevSecOps
• Deep expertise with Jenkins and Groovy shared libraries
• Advanced Python automation skills, especially for JSON/YAML processing and tooling scripts
• Strong understanding of Java/Maven, Node/NPM, and Python packaging, with exposure to Helm, Terraform, and container image metadata
• Hands-on experience with software supply-chain security concepts (SLSA, SBOMs, cryptographic digests)

Contract Details

• Duration: 6 months
• Location: Onsite in Sheffield (3 days per week)
• Rate: £425 per day (Inside IR35)
• Start Date: ASAP
