Job description
- Provide 1st level desktop support and assist our local and global users with hardware, software and network issues
- Respond to enquiries and support tickets via phone, email or in person
- Diagnose and troubleshoot IT and network issues both in the production environment and offices
- Set up and configure new computers, phones and other devices
- Document reported issues, resolutions, and ongoing problems within the helpdesk system
- Escalate unresolved issues to senior support staff or development teams when necessary
- Provide clear and user-friendly communication to non-technical users
- Maintain knowledge base articles and support documentation
- Contribute to continuous improvement of support processes
- Assist in the setup, configuration, and maintenance of IT equipment, including computers, printers, and peripherals

Our well established manufacturing client based near Bishops Cleeve has a fantastic opportunity for a motivated and detail-oriented Junior IT Support Technician to join the team. In this role, you will provide first-line support to end-users, helping to troubleshoot software issues, resolve user queries, and ensure customer satisfaction. This is an excellent opportunity for a newly qualified apprentice or school/college leaver with a keen interest in IT and software support to grow their career in a supportive and dynamic environment. Full training will be given., The ideal candidate will have an understanding of IT and software gained during education or apprenticeship, but full training will be given. A keen interest in IT and the desire to learn essential.
The following would be an advantage:

Previous experience in a customer support or helpdesk role (apprenticeships & work experience placements count)

Understanding of software applications, operating systems, and troubleshooting techniques

Familiar with basic server components such as Active Directory, DNS, DHCP and group policies

Basic network knowledge, understanding of IP subnets, LAN, Wi-Fi, VPN and VLANs

Strong communication skills to discover clients root issues and navigate solutions with the client

Ability to communicate IT information effectively to other members of staff and partners, * 5 GCSEs grade 5 or higher in English, Maths and an IT related subject

Must have a driving/bike license and own transport due to rural location and visits to other sites.
