Job description
The Regional Head of Solution Design for Europe is responsible for leading the regional SD team and coordinating with local country teams to develop optimal client solutions aligned with the global strategy. This role ensures the consistent application of solution design methodologies across the region to deliver efficient, scalable, and customer-centric logistics solutions. Working closely with Business Development, the Regional Head supports go/no-go decisions, ensures timely responses to tenders and contract renewals, and defines design priorities to balance workload and business impact. By fostering collaboration across regional and local teams, the role ensures that proposed solutions are both operationally feasible and financially sound, driving profitable growth and maximizing new business wins across Europe.
WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?
Management and coordination
Lead, guide, and challenge the Country Solution Design teams across Europe to ensure alignment with regional objectives and global frameworks, promoting collaboration between local and regional levels. Ensure that each country has the right team structure and technical expertise to design effective, scalable, and competitive logistics solutions. Guarantee that global SD methodologies, tools, and best practices are implemented consistently across the Region. Oversee performance reporting via C-View, monitor SD-related KPIs, and drive continuous improvement through corrective and optimization actions.
Solutions Design
Lead the design of transportation solutions that deliver value to our customers (new business opportunities and renewals)
Collaboration & Planning: Work closely with BD management and the wider community to define priorities, allocate team workload, and align design activities with business goals. Technical solution: Setup defined transport solutions based on customer data profile & requirements (scope, volumes, data crunching, IT requirements. Commercial offer: define the best pricing allowing high hit rate and ensuring profitability (both rates and commercial terms) including budget Summary (Gross Revenue, Net Revenue, Gross Margin if available, business conditions and deviations mitigation to CEVA Business Rules). Communication & Delivery: Present and communicate proposed solutions effectively to internal stakeholders and customers, delivering compelling proposals that drive business decisions in favor of CEVA Logistics. Implementation & Compliance: Support awarded projects during the start-up phase, ensuring a smooth transition from design to operations, maintaining ICAP data accuracy up to NR level with Controlling, and ensuring contract adherence to CEVA policies. Continuous Improvement: Conduct contract reviews and support post-mortem analyses led by BD to identify risks, strengthen clauses, and implement profitability and performance improvements.
Business Intelligence
Improve and standardize design tools and methods to keep them aligned with global best practices. Use data analysis to make transport network design, routing, and capacity planning more accurate and efficient. Keep an updated library of regional solutions, benchmarks, and case studies to share knowledge across teams. Track key design KPIs such as hit rate, solution profitability, and delivery time, and take action when results need improvement. Review completed projects and share lessons learned to continuously improve the quality and feasibility of future designs.
Monitor & Adjust
Track the performance of designed solutions and identify areas for improvement. Conduct post-implementation reviews to learn from completed projects and refine future designs. Support operations and account teams during solution handover to ensure smooth implementation. Monitor client satisfaction and operational KPIs to detect issues early and take corrective actions. Develop simple frameworks to guide decision-making and improve the quality, efficiency, and feasibility of solutions.
Legal, Business Rules & Compliance
Closely monitor the compliance, quality, and consistency of designed solutions across the region, ensuring alignment with internal standards, regional guidelines, and contractual requirements, with particular focus on:
Design Quality & Governance: Ensure all solutions in the region follow company methodologies, design templates, and technical standards established by the regional and global SD teams. Documentation & Operational Accuracy: Monitor completeness and correctness of solution documentation, templates, and operational requirements across countries. Contractual & SLA Compliance: Ensure designs meet contractual commitments, service level agreements, and client expectations. Cross-Functional Alignment: Coordinate with Operations, Finance, IT, and Account teams to ensure smooth implementation and operational integrity. Knowledge Sharing & Standardization: Maintain a regional repository of design standards, templates, and lessons learned to promote consistency across countries.
Reporting and Business Reviews
Ensure effective performance monitoring and regular business review processes across the region:
Create and maintain regular reports at country and regional levels to track solution design performance. Coordinate and lead Monthly Business Reviews (MBRs) across all countries in scope. Requirements
Do you have experience in Transportation management systems?, Minimum 5-8 years' experience in transport operations, solution design, or engineering-related activities, ideally with exposure to Lean / Continuous Improvement or PMO environments. Experience and knowledge in one or more of the following sectors: Automotive, Consumer & Retail, Industrial, Technology, Luxury & Beauty, Healthcare, Aerospace & Defense, eCommerce, Energy, and Aid & Relief and Government. Knowledge of transport operations, logistics processes, and freight network design. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on process optimization and feasibility analysis. Good Excel skills (data modeling, solver, and optimization formulas). Effective planning, organization, and project coordination abilities. Strong collaboration, communication, and presentation skills for cross-functional solution design work.
Desirable
BA/BS - Supply Chain, Engineering, Transportation, Management or Administration Experience in managing transport-related optimization initiatives, process design, and/or IT implementation projects. Knowledge of process engineering and continuous improvement. Experience with XCARGO and Paragon optimization tools. Strong understanding of multimodal transport and logistics network optimization. Familiarity with TMS development and system evolution. Experience with RFP management and vendor selection. Advanced Excel skills (macros, automation). Proficiency in Power BI and other BI tools.
