Job description
We are working with a leading advisory consulting firm on a high-profile public sector cloud transformation programme. They are seeking two SC Cleared DevOps Engineers to join the team, focusing on designing, implementing, and optimising end-to-end DevOps processes across AWS cloud environments. You will collaborate closely with development, QA, and operations teams to drive automation, scalability, and reliability, while mentoring junior engineers and shaping best practices.
What You'll Be Doing
- Lead the design, deployment, and management of scalable AWS Cloud infrastructures.
- Develop and implement advanced CI/CD pipelines supporting complex, large-scale solutions.
- Collaborate with stakeholders, providing expert technical guidance and influencing architectural decisions.
- Automate repetitive tasks, remediate technical debt, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Mentor and coach junior engineers, promoting a culture of knowledge sharing and best practice adoption.
- Maintain operational excellence through monitoring, log analytics, and observability of cloud environments., Desirable: AWS certifications, experience with configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chef), and understanding of Cloud Landing Zone best practices.
What You'll Receive
- Competitive daily rate: £575 inside.
- Initial contract of 5 months, with the potential for extension once SC clearance transfers.

Requirements
- Minimum 8 years experience provisioning and managing AWS Cloud environments, particularly for large-scale, mission-critical systems.
- Extensive hands-on experience with Java applications, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, CDK), containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes/EKS), and CI/CD tools (AWS CodePipeline, Jenkins, GitLab, GitHub Actions).
- Strong networking, Linux/Windows administration, and cloud security knowledge.
- Proven leadership in managing high-pressure technical situations and guiding teams.
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Must hold current SC Clearance., This role suits senior DevOps engineers with deep AWS expertise, strong automation and CI/CD experience, and the ability to operate at both strategic and hands-on levels.
