Job description

Founda is on a mission to connect healthcare, and we believe this mindset is the key to doing it faster, better, and with more fun. We are looking for a dedicated AI Lead to report directly to our CEO and guide our transition into an AI-First organization.

This is a unique, high-impact individual contributor role. You will be weaving intelligence into the existing fabric of our company. You will act as a bridge between our human talent and emerging technology, ensuring that every team member, from Engineering to HR, feels empowered by these new tools and possibilities. But you will not just be an evangelist; you will be a maker. You will ship tangible tools, code, and automations that deliver clear ROI-saving critical time for your colleagues or dramatically increasing their work satisfaction, and increasing the value of our core customer offering. In all of this, you will be co-creating these solutions directly with the teams that need them., Build the Movement & Champions Network You are building a movement, not just a toolset. You cannot do this alone, so you will identify and cultivate a team of "AI Champions" within every department: enthusiasts who will co-work with you to drive adoption. Together, you will lead the cultural shift, listening to team concerns, dismantling resistance through education, and creating a safe environment where experimentation is celebrated.

Architect Operational Efficiency You will dive deep into daily workflows across the entire organization, from Finance to Professional Services and Support. You will strategically select high-value workflows for automation, ensuring a careful balance between efficiency gains and risk management. Your objective is to build seamless solutions that remove repetitive tasks, giving our team their time back for meaningful work and directly impacting our profitability.

Empower Engineering & Product You will sit alongside our technical teams to foster innovation. You will help implement AI-assisted development practices to streamline coding and collaborate on building proof-of-concepts (POCs) that demonstrate how new AI capabilities can be integrated into our core product. You will help us explore how embedded and proprietary AI can make healthcare connectivity smarter without managing the product roadmap yourself.

Elevate Internal Literacy You are our internal educator. You will organize workshops, curate resources, and run "AI Playgrounds" to upskill the team. You will ensure that prompt engineering and AI-assisted workflows become second nature to every colleague, connected to our culture of continuous learning.

Requirements

Do you have experience in Scalability?, Do you have a Master's degree?, You must be hands-on and pragmatic. We are not looking for theoretical research; we are looking for practical application using:

  • LLM Fluency & Prompt Engineering: You don't just "chat"; you engineer contexts. You have mastery over the distinct capabilities of OpenAI, Gemini, and other LLMs, knowing exactly which model to deploy for reasoning, creativity, or coding tasks.
  • Automation: You move beyond simple triggers. You have advanced proficiency in tools like N8N and Zapier for workflow orchestration.
  • Development Support: Experience with tools like GitHub Copilot and Cursor, assisting engineering workflows.
  • Integration: Comfort working with APIs, embedded AI contexts, proprietary AI, and scripting where necessary., * You are a listener first. You understand that you cannot automate what you do not understand. You take the time to sit with colleagues, empathize with their pain points, and co-create solutions that actually solve their problems.
  • You value change management. You know that introducing AI is a psychological shift as much as a technical one. You are patient with learning curves and skilled at bringing people along on the journey.
  • You are an ethical pragmatist. You are not someone who works in a vacuum. You co-pilot with our Infosec & Compliance Officer to ensure every agent or automation you ship is secure, ethical, and fully aligned with our privacy goals. You move fast, but you never compromise on data safety, especially given our sensitive healthcare context.
  • You are a maker who loves to teach. You get satisfaction from building a complex workflow, but you get equal satisfaction from seeing a non-technical colleague have a breakthrough moment with an AI tool.
  • You have a high sense of agency. You don't wait for permission to make things better. You see a gap, and you fill it with a smart solution.
  • You are a self-educator. The AI landscape changes weekly, not yearly. You obsessively track the industry, from new model releases to emerging prompting techniques. You know how to filter the signal from the noise to keep Founda ahead of the curve., * You speak the language of ROI. You understand that innovation must pay for itself. You can demonstrate clear metrics from your past work, whether it was hours returned to the business, operational costs reduced, or revenue accelerated. You prioritize high-impact work over "cool" tech.
  • You are a Change Agent. You deploy code and you deploy culture. You have a history of successfully guiding non-technical teams through the AI transition, turning skepticism into enthusiasm, and ensuring that the tools you build are actually adopted and loved by the people who need them.
  • You have shipped in production. You have moved beyond simple prototypes. You have deployed agents or automations that handle real business logic, ensuring reliability, security, and scalability in a live environment.
