Job description
We are looking for an experienced Onsite IT Support Engineer to be the main IT presence at a busy client site in Barbican.
You will provide hands-on, face-to-face support to users who regularly walk up with issues and questions. You will be the visible IT contact onsite, so confidence, professionalism, and sound judgement are essential.
While you will work onsite in Barbican most of the time, you will be fully supported by a wider, experienced engineering team based at our Shenfield office, who provide escalation, technical depth, and backup support.
This is not an entry-level role. We already have a junior onsite and need someone experienced who can provide stability and is able to operate effectively from day one.
What You Will Do
- Act as the primary onsite IT support contact at the Barbican client site
- Provide face-to-face IT support in a fast-paced office environment
- Handle walk-up queries and manage user expectations professionally
- Resolve 1st & 2nd line issues (hardware, software, Microsoft 365, basic networking)
- Log, own, and progress tickets through to resolution
- Support new starters with device setup and onboarding
- Work closely with the Shenfield-based engineering team for escalations and complex issues
- Represent 3Gi professionally at client site
Requirements
Do you have experience in Windows?, * Demonstrated experience in a client-facing IT support or service desk role
- Comfortable being the go-to IT person onsite
- Used to face-to-face user support (not just remote or ticket-based)
- Calm, professional communicator who takes ownership of issues
- Able to work independently while working as part of a wider team
Essential Skills
- Windows 10/11
- Microsoft 365 (including admin)
- Active Directory
- Intune (device management, policies, compliance)
- Understanding of security principles
- Able to commute to Barbican with occasional travel to Shenfield
Nice to Have
- MSP or multi-client experience
- Professional services or recruitment environment experience
- Networking / connectivity knowledge
