Job description

Nottingham City Council is seeking an HR Systems Support Advisor to join our HR Systems team within the HR & Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Service. This is a key role supporting the effective operation, configuration, and development of our HR systems, ensuring high-quality data, strong governance, and excellent service to colleagues across the organisation.

You will act as the first point of contact for HR systems users, providing day-to-day system support while coordinating updates, data maintenance, and system administration, with a particular focus on Oracle Fusion.

What you will do

  • Support and coordinate Oracle Fusion quarterly updates, including planning, regression testing, and liaison with Development and Change colleagues
  • Maintain and update HR system data, including worker categories, positions, templates, checklists, journeys, and organisational structures
  • Act as coordinator for HR and corporate system licensing, tracking users and renewals
  • Support establishment control and vacancy management, ensuring accurate position and budgeted establishment data
  • Provide administrative support for FOI and Subject Access Requests, ensuring requests are logged, prioritised, and completed within statutory timescales
  • Maintain system issue logs and support escalation of technical issues
  • Support time recording solutions and provide user support for system queries and errors
  • Produce information and analysis using tools such as Excel and Oracle, responding to internal and external requests
  • Maintain HR & EDI content on the corporate intranet

Requirements

You will bring experience of working with HR systems and data, ideally within a large or complex organisation. You will be confident working with data, supporting users, and maintaining high standards of accuracy and confidentiality.

You will also demonstrate:

  • Experience using HR Management Information Systems, preferably Oracle
  • Strong Excel skills, including formula writing and data analysis
  • An understanding of data protection, GDPR and information governance
  • The ability to prioritise work and manage competing demands
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively
