A biotechnology start-up in Barcelona is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented IT Technician to join its team.
This position is designed for a profile comfortable working in regulated environments, with a strong focus on IT governance, documentation, access control and process discipline
The role will support the maintenance and continuous improvement of the company's Information Security Management System (ISMS), ensuring secure operations, proper access management and compliance with ISO 27001, ENS and GDPR/HIPAA requirements.
The selected candidate will work closely with internal teams and coordinate with an external MSP responsible for infrastructure operations, while maintaining internal ownership of controls, documentation and evidences.
Main responsibilities
- Manage user accounts, roles, permissions and secure access across company systems.
- Maintain and review access controls, particularly within Microsoft 365 -SharePoint and AWS, ensuring the principle of least privilege.
- Review, maintain and improve ISO 27001 / ENS documentation, procedures and evidences, ensuring alignment with real operational practices.
- Provide day-to-day IT support for devices, applications and corporate tools.
- Deploy, configure and secure company laptops using Intune / MDM and endpoint protection tools.
- Coordinate with external Managed Service Providers (MSP) for escalated issues and infrastructure-level support.
- Support IT and security incident reporting, basic investigation and evidence collection.
- Maintain IT inventories, records and documentation in an orderly and auditable manner.
- Contribute to security and data protection practices aligned with ISO 27001, GDPR, and HIPAA safeguards.
Requirements
Vocational training or higher education in Computer Science, Information Technology, Telecommunications, or a related technical field. Speciality: Additional certifications or training in information security systems., 3+ years of experience in IT administration, technical support or systems management. Experience working in environments aligned with ISO 27001, ENS or other quality / compliance frameworks. Solid understanding of access control, data protection and basic risk management. Hands-on experience with Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Intune / MDM, and Windows / macOS environments. Experience with AWS or other cloud platforms (at governance / operational level). Experience working with structured processes, documentation and evidences. Basic scripting skills (PowerShell, Bash or Python) are a plus., Strong attention to detail and sense of responsibility when handling sensitive information. Structured, methodical and pragmatic working style. Ability to work independently and in coordination with internal teams and external MSPs. Clear communication skills, both written and verbal. Languages Spanish and English (working proficiency).
