Job description
As a Senior Engineer, your role is to provide support for core network infrastructure, ensuring high availability across key components including core and edge routing, switching, and hybrid-cloud connectivity. Act as a senior escalation point for the Network team and wider technical groups, serving as the technical lead on business-critical projects. This is a 12 month FTC opporunity covering parental leave.
What will I be doing?
- Act as lead technical engineer on critical network projects.
- Plan and execute network-wide core replacement programs under change control and CAB processes.
- Serve as an escalation point for technical issues internally and across teams.
- Monitor, diagnose and resolve problems within the ANS infrastructure
- Proactively work to identify areas of improvement in the platform
- Maintain good interdepartmental relationships with other technical and commercial teams through regular interaction and collaboration.
- Responsible for the generation of LLD from HLD
- Ensure our infrastructure is up to date by planning & performing patching and firmware upgrades
- Working with vendors to raise escalations and troubleshoot issues
- Produce and maintain high quality technical documentation
- Out-of-hours work on core systems
- Deliver working within ANS change control, CAB and incident management
- Plan, prepare and deliver for upcoming maintenance works.
Requirements
Do you have experience in Network engineering?, * Previous experience as a Network engineer working on Projects, following an Agile framework
- Experience with Arista and Cisco Switching technologies, including BGP, ISIS, VXLAN and MPLS
- Experience with Cisco ASA and Fortigate Firewalling
- Proven technical ability and troubleshooting skills
- Experience leading large scale projects is desirable
- Ability to produce and maintain Low Level Design Documentation
- Significant Attention to detail
- Good communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively as well as self-driven for individual tasks
- Passion to deliver projects on time
- Ability to take ownership of areas and problems
