Job description

  • Operation and maintenance of physical/virtual servers (Linux) and hypervisor environments
  • Administration of SAN/NAS including capacity & performance management
  • Installation and configuration of Linux services
  • Backup & recovery (documentation, tests, RPO/RTO)
  • Monitoring, incident & problem management
  • Patch/release management, hardening, security configurations
  • Automation (PowerShell, Bash, Ansible)
  • Participation in infrastructure projects (migrations, lifecycle, cloud integration)
  • Documentation & standardization of operational processes
  • Operation & maintenance of databases
  • Management of the internal CA and PKI
  • Management of external certificates & public DNS

Requirements

  • Education/studies in the IT field or comparable experience
  • at least 5 years of experience in server & storage administration & Linux system operations
  • Knowledge of hypervisor technologies
  • Scripting/automation skills
  • Basic Oracle DB, PKI, and certificate knowledge
  • Very strong knowledge of Linux (Ubuntu, RHEL, Debian)
  • Virtualization: VMware vSphere/ESXi, vCenter; Hyper-V; KVM
  • Storage: RAID, FC, iSCSI, NFS/SMB; snapshots/tiering, replication
  • Network fundamentals: TCP/IP, VLAN, routing, load balancing; DNS/DHCP/PKI
  • IT security: hardening, access controls, logging, vulnerability management
  • Backup/restore: concepts, tools (e.g., Veeam)
  • Scripting/automation: PowerShell/Bash/Python/Ansible, IaC approaches; Git
  • Structured troubleshooting & communication
  • Databases: Oracle (deployment, operations)
  • Understanding of domain operations and certificate chains
  • Knowledge of secure key management and PKI
  • Monitoring tools (e.g., Zabbix, Grafana)
  • Certifications (e.g., VMware VCP, Linux, storage/backup) preferrable
  • Experience in project management
  • Strong ability for self-organization and independent work
  • Analytical thinking and a structured way of working
  • Teamwork and communication skills, German language skills are appreciated
  • Good English language skills, written and spoken
