Job description

A significant part of that delivery plan involves the embedding and support of technology and our approach to digital across the organisation and city.

Our Digital Strategy is being delivered with a series of projects that will modernise our IT infrastructure and look to the future using AI and Automation. We are bringing together professionals and teams that support ICT and Digital Innovation from across the organisation, to further develop skills in line with the SIAM model of delivery.

With this in mind, we are seeking to appoint an outstanding Information Systems Team Specialist for the Applications team that supports our Neighbourhoods Service. We are looking for an individual who possesses exceptional operational leadership and technical skills and experience to support the Information Systems Officers and team members to deliver an innovative problem-solving service that supports front-line critical services.

The service supports the Neighbourhoods Services Directorate by maintaining their Line of Business Applications and providing a support service to ensure the applications are enablers to business change and service improvement. You will be joining a team that currently support the following line of business applications.

  • OHMS/NEC Housing
  • Info@Work (DM Housing)
  • APP (Flare) Housing/Civica CX
  • Abritas
  • Confirm
  • Total Mobile

In this role you would need to:

  • Extract and explore data confidently and accurately, using SQL and other tools as required
  • Analyse the root cause of system problems, and work to resolve them
  • Support 1st line help desk colleagues by investigating queries and deliver recommendations with supporting analysis
  • Design & build interactive dashboards
  • Communicate with colleagues to gather requirements and understand business challenges or client specific issues

Requirements

Do you have experience in SQL?, * Experience in data analysis, working with large amounts of client and financial data

  • Experience with Data visualisation tools and a history of developing interactive and engaging dashboards that allow users to self-serve
  • Experience with advanced reporting skills, in particular SQL, would be a benefit

This role will have a strong emphasis on the income management functions within the NEC Housing system. As such, candidates with knowledge and practical experience of rents and Right to Buy (RTB) processes will be at an advantage. Familiarity with income collection, arrears policies and statutory requirements relating to rental income and home ownership schemes will support effective delivery in this position. You will be joining a dynamic forward-thinking service at an exciting time of change and be supported by both the Applications Service Manager and a skilled operational management team.

If you are appointed to this role, your starting salary will be at the bottom of the grade. If you provide payslip evidence that your basic pay is greater than the bottom of the grade, we will consider starting you at the point of minimum advantage within the grade.
