Job description

A well established organisation within the energy services sector is seeking a Document Controller to provide immediate support during a period of backlog. This assignment offers an initial 3 month temporary contract, working from a busy operational base in Portlethen.

The role focuses on managing and tracking certification and technical documentation for operational equipment, ensuring records meet regulatory and client standards. Working closely with workshop and operational teams, the Document Controller plays a key part in keeping equipment readiness on track and supporting live operations.

Main duties and responsibilities:

  • Managing and tracking equipment certification, ensuring compliance with regulatory and client requirements.
  • Preparing, maintaining and issuing complete certification packs for customer and third-party inspections.
  • Coordinating with the Workshop Supervisor, suppliers and inspectors to support equipment readiness and recertification.
  • Monitoring certification expiry dates and maintain accurate, well-organised digital records.
  • Supporting inspections, reporting and purchasing activity, resolving certification issues to minimise operational disruption.

Requirements

Do you have experience in Organizational skills?, * Previous experience in a Document Controller, Certification, QA, or administrative role within engineering, energy or a regulated environment.

  • Strong working knowledge of document control processes, ideally linked to equipment certification or compliance.
  • Confidence using Microsoft Office packages and experience working within an ERP system.
  • Excellent organisational skills, high level of attention to detail, clear communication skills and a proactive, adaptable approach, with the ability to respond quickly as priorities change.
