Job description
We are seeking an experienced System Engineer to join our engineering organization as a consultant, bringing proven expertise in managing technical complexity and driving end-to-end system development. In this role, you will act as the technical integrator and systems thinker, ensuring that mechanical, electrical, software, and human factors come together into a cohesive, high-performing product., Lead the end-to-end system development process, ensuring alignment across mechanical, electrical, software, and usability domains. Translate user needs and business goals into clear, traceable system requirements and high-level architectures. Apply systems engineering methodologies such as the V-model, FMEA, Risk Management (RMM), and requirements decomposition throughout the product lifecycle. Manage and maintain system requirements using requirements management tools (e.g., DOORS, Jama, Polarion), ensuring full traceability from concept to verification. Drive system integration, define interfaces, and lead cross-domain trade-off analyses to optimize performance, reliability, and manufacturability. Lead verification and validation planning, ensuring all requirements are tested and evidence is captured for compliance and certification. Conduct root-cause analysis of production issues, field failures, and customer feedback-driving corrective actions across design and process. Apply modeling and simulation tools (e.g., Matlab, Ansys, CREO, Cameo, or equivalent) to predict system behavior and support decision-making. Collaborate with global, multidisciplinary teams-including R&D, quality, manufacturing, and external partners-to ensure technical coherence and project success. Champion Design for Six Sigma (DfSS) principles, applying Green Belt (or higher) knowledge to create robust, user-centered designs. Support product lifecycle transitions, including handover to manufacturing, launch support, and post-market evaluation. Act as a technical reference point, resolving conflicts and guiding teams through complex system challenges., At Amaris, we strive to provide our candidates with the best possible recruitment experience. We like to get to know our candidates, challenge them, and be able to give them proper feedback as quickly as possible. Here's what our recruitment process looks like:
Brief Call: Our process typically begins with a brief virtual/phone conversation to get to know you! The objective? Learn about you, understand your motivations, and make sure we have the right job for you!
Interviews (the average number of interviews is 3 - the number may vary depending on the level of seniority required for the position). During the interviews, you will meet people from our team: your line manager of course, but also other people related to your future role. We will talk in depth about you, your experience, and skills, but also about the position and what will be expected of you. Of course, you will also get to know Amaris: our culture, our roots, our teams, and your career opportunities!
Case study: Depending on the position, we may ask you to take a test. This could be a role play, a technical assessment, a problem-solving scenario, etc.
As you know, every person is different and so is every role in a company. That is why we have to adapt accordingly, and the process may differ slightly at times. However, please know that we always put ourselves in the candidate's shoes to ensure they have the best possible experience. We look forward to meeting you!
Requirements

Minimum 5 years of experience in a lead systems or integration role, managing complexity across multiple engineering domains. Proven track record of successfully bringing complex products to market, particularly in regulated or high-reliability environments (e.g., medical, consumer health, industrial). Strong expertise in systems engineering tools and processes: V-model, requirement management, interface control, risk assessment. Hands-on experience with requirements management tools-preferably DOORS, or equivalent (e.g., Jama, Polarion). Proficiency in modeling and simulation tools such as Matlab/Simulink, Ansys, CREO, Cameo System Modeler, or similar. Solid understanding of regulated product development (e.g., IEC 60601, ISO 13485, FDA, or equivalent standards). Demonstrated ability to think abstractly, analyze complex systems, and generate creative, practical solutions. Strong quality mindset-driven by excellence, not compromise. Excellent communication, influencing, and collaboration skills in English; effective with engineers, managers, and external stakeholders.
