Job description

As a Software Developer, you'll become an integral part of our agile development team, working with the latest technology on ground-breaking projects to keep the business at the forefront of our industry. You'll work on the development and maintenance of our industry leading CAD based planning system which is used by our Kitchen and Bedroom Designers to bring our customers dream to reality, as well as working on the architecture, planning and design of other innovative internal systems used across our manufacturing, transport, installations and customer service departments. This role is based at our Head Office in Barton-Upon-Humber 1/2 days a week

The technology you will be using includes:

  • JavaScript / TypeScript

  • Less, * Build and maintain Wren's custom built, cutting edge application
  • Write clean code that is clear and understandable by others
  • Contribute to all phases of the development lifecycle
  • Work with senior developers, business stakeholders and wider development team to understand the initial scope for a new project

Requirements

Do you have experience in macOS?, * 2+ years' experience developing and maintaining JavaScript applications

  • Proficient in TypeScript, React, NodeJS, HTML5, Canvas, and Less
  • Solid understanding of JavaScript concepts (e.g. mixins, composition, scope), OOP, and software design patterns
  • Strong maths skills and ability to design complex algorithms
  • Experience with unit and automated testing, including tools like Docker, Webpack, NPM, ESLint, and Karma
  • Familiar with Git workflows, Agile methodologies, and CI environments
  • Exposure to AWS and Linux/macOS environments
  • Background in retail or manufacturing environments is a plus
