Job description

  • Design and deploy secure, scalable, and resilient Azure infrastructure and services.
  • Manage and administer Azure resources, including compute, storage, networking, identity, and security services.
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or ARM templates.
  • Monitor performance and availability of cloud services.
  • Implement and enforce security best practices, policies, and compliance in cloud deployments.
  • Manage patching, vulnerability remediation, and system hardening processes.
  • Assist in the migration of workloads from on-premises to Azure.
  • Implement and maintain robust disaster recovery and backup strategies across all Azure environments.
  • Stay updated with Azure innovations and propose opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with standards, including ISO 27001, Cyber Essentials, and NIST frameworks.

This is a cloud-focused infrastructure role primarily supporting Microsoft Azure cloud and is part of the Technology Operations team within our I&T Department. We are looking for someone who is passionate about designing, implementing, managing, and supporting cloud solutions on the Microsoft Azure platform, with an emphasis on security, stability, and scalability to meet our business needs.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience working in cloud environments, with a focus on Microsoft Azure.
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104).
  • ITIL v4 Foundation certification.
  • Proficiency in Virtual Machines, Azure Storage, Azure Networking, and Azure Active Directory.
  • Experience with Azure Key Vault, Azure Security Center, and Azure Policy.
  • Familiarity with Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Redhat OpenShift, or other container services.
  • Strong scripting skills in PowerShell and Bash, along with automation capabilities.
  • Knowledge of networking fundamentals, including VPN, DNS, firewalls, and load balancers.
  • Understanding of cloud identity, access control, and security (RBAC, MFA, conditional access).
  • Familiarity with monitoring, logging, and alerting tools.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft operating systems and applications including Windows Server 2016 to 2025, Windows 11, and Microsoft Office 365.
  • Strong knowledge and experience with Service Management/Service Desk tools to manage IT service tickets.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Current BPSS & SC clearance or eligibility to undertake SC clearance is essential (5 years UK residency required).
  • Own transport is necessary due to the remote location.
