IT Configuration Engineer

• You will be responsible for configuring, testing, and troubleshooting laptops, desktops, thin clients, and mobile devices to ensure optimal performance.
• It will be your duty to monitor system performance, ensuring build images are up to date and correctly deployed.
• You will liaise with customers, vendors, and suppliers to resolve hardware and build image-related issues.
• Maintaining stock levels through weekly and monthly stock checks will be crucial to ensure availability and accuracy.
• You will manage the inventory of Configuration Items (CIs) and assets, ensuring proper tracking and documentation.
• Defining, enhancing, and implementing best practices for asset management will be part of your role, aimed at improving efficiency and accuracy.
• You will ensure the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) is effectively managed, with up-to-date and accurate asset records.
• Providing KPI/Metric reports on stock deployment and asset utilization is another key accountability.
• Managing the secure disposal of devices through approved third-party suppliers is essential to ensure compliance with security policies.
• You will adhere to all relevant IT security policies and procedures to safeguard assets and data integrity.
• Overseeing the lifecycle management of hardware and software models within the CMDB will be necessary, following asset management directives.
• Applying a continuous improvement mindset to asset management and optimizing efficiency and cost-effectiveness will be expected.
• You will identify and enhance processes related to asset and configuration management and support various IT projects by providing expertise in asset management, tracking, and reporting.
