WPP is embarking on a major 3-year Transformation to simplify, modernise, and unify its technology platforms across the group. This change is critical to:
- Enable cost-effective transformation and operational efficiency
- Accelerate adoption of AI, data, and digital platforms
- Ensure consistent delivery of value and benefits across all agencies and markets
- Minimise disruption and maximise engagement during large-scale change.
A dedicated Senior Project Manager is needed to orchestrate the people side of this transformation, ensuring that new ways of working are adopted, benefits are realised, and change fatigue is minimised.
WPP's GCP Migration programme is migrating key workloads and infrastructure to Google Cloud Platform (GCP) as part of a $400 million, five-year strategic partnership with Google. This move aims to accelerate modernisation, improve operational efficiency, and unlock advanced AI and data capabilities across the group.
What you'll be doing:
- Plan, manage, and execute migration workstreams to time, cost, quality, and compliance standards.
- Ensure alignment with programme objectives and strategic outcomes.
- Maintain RAID, produce status reporting, and coordinate assurance across technical and cross-functional teams.
- Ensure adherence to Strategy and Transformation standards, tools, processes, and compliance requirements.
- Act as a liaison between engineering teams, partners (Google, Kyndryl), and WPP Technology Operations, ensuring decisions are informed and escalations handled promptly.
- Work closely with the Programme Director, Landing Zone, Network, Discovery/Migration teams, and SMEs to keep design, testing, and migration waves on track.
- Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders and sponsors.
- Communicate project status, risks, and decisions clearly and regularly.
- Manage project budgets, resource allocation, and vendor relationships.
- Track costs and benefits to ensure value delivery.
- Coordinate business readiness, support planning, and ensure migration impacts are understood and managed.
- Drive readiness and adoption of new technologies and processes.
- Minimise disruption and embed change effectively across teams.
- Contribute to the Portfolio and Programme Management (PPM) community, fostering continuous learning and career progression.
- Coach and mentor project teams to embed a high-performing culture aligned with organisational values.
- Maintain accurate role assignments and project documentation.
- Support governance reporting and ensure timely updates in project management tool.
Requirements
Do you have experience in Time management?, * Extensive experience of leading strategic and complex projects across full SDLC, with demonstrated capability of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proven record of accomplishment in successful mobilisation and delivery of ambitious, strategic, and operationally complex projects with internal and external cross-functional teams.
- Proven track record as a people leader and influencer with motivational and engagement skills including the ability to lead globally dispersed teams.
- Quick-to-learn and adaptable to changing priorities, with the ability to reshape, reconfigure and realign solutions to meet challenging deadlines without jeopardising the successful delivery of the project.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships by engaging and working inclusively to establish credibility, solve problems, build consensus, and achieve objectives.
- A self-starter with impeccable organisational and time management skills, focusing on value and outcomes; enthusiastic with a can-do attitude.
- Strategic and critical thinker - blending technical, operational, and commercial strategic considerations into decision making, while continuously challenging the status-quo.
