Job description
As a Backend Engineer in Trading at Tibber, you will help us grow our Virtual Power Plant, by improving how we trade the flexibility of our customers' connected devices to enable more renewable energy on the grid and at the same time lowering the cost of energy for the customers.
By aggregating millions of electrical vehicles, home batteries etc. we are able to complement fossil free energy production and make coal, gas and oil plants obsolete. In addition, we also yield a higher return on investment for customers purchasing these smart electrical devices and connecting them to Tibber.
What you'll do
- Work together with other backend engineers, traders and quants in a very small and collaborative team environment, but also contribute in larger cross collaborative projects across the company.
Develop and maintain services to handle energy market integrations across many suppliers and geographies. * Improve our utilization, accuracy and automation of the smart device portfolio. * Work with predictive and optimization models across various device types, geographies, and markets.
Requirements
Do you have experience in Python?, A humble and curious engineer with experience in building long distributed services in a multinational work environment. For this to be a great environment, we think:
- You are comfortable working with a tech stack including C#.Net, Python, AWS, Kubernetes, Postgres, Kafka.
You're fluent in English, communicating transparently with colleagues both IRL and digitally. * That you are able to meet your colleagues in one of our offices on a regular basis. * You have the ability to proactively understand how to make best use of your time and enjoy both close collaboration as well as autonomy. * It's a clear bonus if you have prior experience with energy trading or smart device control.
