Job description

Are you a creative designer who is tired of seeing your visions get "lost in translation" by developers? Do you want to take full ownership of a premium brand's visual identity?

At KSOL, we lead the UK online education space. We build academically robust, teacher-led technology that supports thousands of families through their children's most important learning journeys. We are now entering a major visual and experience-led phase of redevelopment across the KSOL digital estate to provide a "world-class, premium" user experience.

The Role: Design-First, Implementation-Ready

This is a design-led role where your eye for detail is the priority. You will be the guardian of the KSOL look and feel.

Working from our Shirley office, you will collaborate directly withdevelopment, marketing and educators to transform dense, content-heavy educational pages into clear, calm, and intuitive user journeys. While your primary tool will be Figma, you will have familarity with frontend skills (HTML/CSS/React) to ensure your designs are implemented with pixel-perfect accuracy., * Visual Transformation: Redesign the KSOL digital estate and platforms to establish a clear, premium visual hierarchy.

  • UX Strategy: Turn complex parent and student journeys into simple, high-confidence interactions.
  • Build the System: Create and maintain a scalable UI design system that ensures consistency across web and mobile.
  • Frontend Execution: Translate your concepts into clean, responsive frontend code, ensuring performance and accessibility (WCAG) standards are met.
  • Collaborate: Work in-person with our team to bridge the gap between creative ideas and technical reality., * To apply, please confirm that you can provide a portfolio link showing modern UI and UX work, including clear use of typography, spacing, and visual hierarchy, with at least one example taken through to HTML and CSS implementation.

Requirements

Do you have experience in Web design?, Do you have a Bachelor's degree?, * A "Premium" Aesthetic: You have a portfolio that demonstrates exceptional judgement in typography, spacing, and modern UI.

  • Design Tools: You are an expert in Figma and can explain the "why" behind your design decisions.
  • Technical Literacy: You are confident in HTML and CSS (Tailwind experience is a plus) and have a working understanding of React or Next.js.
  • The "In-Office" Mindset: You value the energy of a shared workspace and the speed of in-person collaboration.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal skills, with the ability to write clear micro-copy for a UK audience.
  • Education Impact: A genuine interest in how design can help children learn and give parents confidence., * Bachelor's (preferred)

Pay: £28,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
