Senior Data Engineer

The Senior Data Engineer role exists to lead on the design, build and maintenance of the data infrastructure that will power Places for People and the delivery of its business strategy. This role requires creativity and innovation, along with the capacity to develop new solutions and produce reliable, efficient, and well-documented code. The candidate will assess challenges, determine optimal strategies, and present clear plans and accurate estimates to achieve successful, timely outcomes.

Experience & Skills

• Data Engineering with a focus on ETL/ELT
• Languages: SQL and python
• Tooling: DBT, GIT, Terraform, IAM, Composer (Airflow), Docker
• Platform: Strong preference - GCP (BigQuery) ;Minimum - Azure/AWS
• Documentation, change management, ci/cd
• Concepts: Data Mesh, Test Driven Design, Agile

Senior Data Engineers work in DevOps environments, troubleshooting issues with existing data pipelines whilst also building new pipelines as per business needs. They can lead on the resolution of complex requests and problems and provide expert advice on the capabilities of the Data Platform.
