IT Assurance Lead (defence aerospace)

You'll act as a trusted authority, working closely with customers, programme stakeholders, and delivery teams to ensure security, compliance, and assurance are built in from day one., As IT Assurance Lead, you will:

• Provide independent IT assurance across applications, infrastructure, and cloud environments
• Lead compliance with Security by Design principles and agreed customer assurance requirements
• Define secure development guidelines and assure controls that protect critical data
• Collaborate across PMO, development, operations, and security teams
• Oversee risk management and drive continuous improvement in security posture
• Champion best practice across recognised standards and frameworks

• Strong background in IT Assurance within defence, regulated IT, or complex environments
• Expert knowledge of frameworks and standards such as ISO 44001, NIST 800-53/171/172, NIS2, DEFSTAN, JSPs
• Proven experience implementing Security by Design across the full delivery life cycle
• Hands-on experience with infrastructure, cloud, and application security controls
• Confident leader with excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
• Ability to manage risk, assurance activities, and multiple priorities effectively
