Job description
STS Aviation Services is hiring an IT Support Technician to support our Manchester-based operations while providing IT assistance across additional UK sites as needed. This role delivers first-line technical support, maintains IT assets, and ensures reliable system performance across a fast-paced aviation maintenance environment.
This position is ideal for a self-motivated IT professional who is comfortable working independently, resolving issues hands-on, and supporting both operational staff and business systems., * Log IT support requests accurately within the STS Helpdesk system
- Provide first-line IT support through deskside and remote troubleshooting
- Resolve hardware, software, and user access issues for employees and on-site customers
- Liaise with third-party IT service providers for fault resolution and new service implementation
- Support internal business projects requiring IT systems or infrastructure
- Configure, deploy, and maintain PCs, laptops, mobile phones, and tablet devices
- Maintain and update the company IT asset register
- Provide out-of-hours IT support on a rota basis
- Travel to other STS UK locations when required
Requirements
Do you have a valid Driving Licence license?, Do you have experience in Windows?, * Minimum of 2 years IT support experience within a medium or large organisation
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 including Teams and SharePoint
- Experience supporting Microsoft Windows 11 environments
- Working knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, and file permissions
- PC build, imaging, and deployment experience
- Basic LAN and WAN configuration and troubleshooting skills
- Foundational networking knowledge including IPv4, protocols, VPNs, and firewalls
- Printer setup and troubleshooting experience
- Experience using ManageEngine ServiceDesk Plus or Endpoint Central is desirable
- Previous experience in aviation, airport, production, or maintenance environments is preferred but not required
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload effectively
- Willingness to learn and develop technical capability
