We are looking for a Revenues System Support Officer to join our System, Support and Control Team-playing a key role in the delivery, maintenance and continual improvement of our Revenues systems across Council Tax, NNDR and BIDS. You will form a vital part of a specialist systems team that supports Revenues, Housing Benefits, Education Benefits and Accessible Transport systems. Some evening and weekend work is required, for which overtime is payable, particularly at year end or during major system upgrades.
As our Revenues System Support Officer, you will be joining the team as a specialist in all technical aspects of Council Tax, NNDR and BIDS. You will use your in-depth legislative knowledge, system expertise and analytical skills to:
- Maintain and support the MRI Academy and EDMS systems
- Resolve complex account issues by interrogating the MRI Academy database
- Support annual billing, system parameter updates, and year-end testing
- Develop and test system templates, reports and printing solutions
- Lead and contribute to IT and automation projects that enhance resident experience
- Run and create reports using ISQL, report-builder, and other tools
- Ensure data quality, security and compliance with GDPR
- Support colleagues through training, guidance notes and helpdesk activity
- Liaise with internal teams, ICT, finance and third-party suppliers when issues arise
- Reconcile valuation lists and troubleshoot financial transactions and payments

Requirements
Do you have experience in Tax experience?, * A strong problem-solver, able to navigate complex systems and find workable solutions
- A critical thinker, using evidence and data to drive decisions
- Technically capable, with experience in ISQL, reporting tools or similar
- Has extensive experience with Academy Revenues as a practitioner and Systems Administration, ideally for both Business Rates and Council Tax Previous Local Government experience, within a Revenues environment is highly desirable, but not essential
- Analytical, able to work with financial and statistical data
- A clear communicator, able to support and train others effectively
- Collaborative, working well with colleagues across the service and wider council
- Adaptable and resilient, able to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Committed to outstanding service, always putting residents at the heart of what you do
