Job description
Are you passionate about data? Do you want to use your expertise to establish and enforce data governance frameworks across the People Team ensuring accuracy, integrity and security of all people data.
As the People Data Lead, you will be the subject matter expert for all People data across the organisation, including how our people data is created, stored, accessed, shared and integrated in a way that makes it a trusted, secure and compliant source for the People Team, Finance and the wider business., Data Quality
- Ensure the accuracy, consistency and completeness of People data through audits, validation checks and clean-up activities.
- Investigate and resolve data discrepancies, collaborating closely with the People Team and other stakeholders.
- Review and improve how People data is captured, stored and shared, maintaining alignment with Payroll, Finance and IT.
Data Security
- Champion data security and governance, maintaining strong access controls, audit trails, and secure handling of confidential information.
- Upskill the People Team in best-practice data handling and secure data usage.
- Data Compliance
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements, including GDPR.
- Maintain clear documentation and guidance on governance and regulatory standards.
Other / Collaborative Work
- Support key projects, such as system migrations, diversity data initiatives, and the Annual Reward cycle.
- Collaborate with wider Data and Systems teams to drive consistency and efficiency across the business.
Requirements
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about data quality, security and compliance, and who has prior experience working within a HR or People function. You will play a key role in championing best practice, protecting confidential information and shaping how people data is managed and shared across the organisation., You will have already worked within a People or HR team and have experience and confidence in handling confidential and sensitive data. We are looking for someone who is proactive, collaborative, and passionate about data quality, security, and compliance.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and numeracy
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Experience handling confidential and sensitive data, with a solid understanding of HR processes, data governance, and GDPR
- Experience working with HR systems and competent in Microsoft Office
- Strong problem-solving, time management, and multitasking abilities
- Proactive, self-motivated, collaborative, and able to motivate others while delivering high-quality service across the business
Desirable
- Experience with HR system migrations or implementing a new HRIS
- Data analytics experience
