Job description
Parico is seeking an Infrastructure Engineer who is smart, curious and eager to tackle complex challenges within a small, agile business working across the Defence and Public Sector. This role offers the freedom to innovate, dive deep into systems and do whatever it takes to deliver exceptional technical solutions to our customers' most demanding problems.
The ideal candidate will bring strong experience in Microsoft Server technologies (including AD and Azure) along with exposure to virtualisation platforms such as VMware and Nutanix. Working closely with Parico's technical team, the engineer will contribute across multiple workstreams involving discovery, planning, migration and troubleshooting, requiring a methodical approach and the ability to communicate effectively with technical stakeholders and infrastructure teams.
What you'll be doing:
Collaborating closely with a highly skilled technical team (including Infrastructure Architects and the CTO) on designing and building greenfield services
Delivering high-quality project work to improve infrastructure stability, performance and availability
Managing and implementing configuration changes across internal and client systems to ensure smooth and reliable operation
Evaluating and validating new system and software releases to ensure successful integration and functionality
Maintaining clear, accurate technical documentation and asset management records to support effective operations and communication
Requirements
Excellent hands-on experience with Windows Server (2019/2022), Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS/DHCP, file services, SQL Server, WSUS, and security hardening (CIS/NCSC), plus solid Linux administration capability
Proficiency with cloud and virtualisation technologies, including Azure, AWS, VMware vSphere/vCentre, and Microsoft Hyper-V, with experience building greenfield Windows/Linux infrastructure components
Proven ability to work with enterprise-scale systems, platforms and networks across both datacentre and cloud environments
Comfortable working in Agile teams and using DevOps tools such as Jira and Confluence, with strong problem-solving skills and adaptability to new challenges
Desirable experience within the UK Defence sector (Army, Royal Navy, or RAF)
