Job description

As a Senior Data Engineer at ING, you'll play a pivotal role in designing and building robust ELT pipelines using dbt, while setting up and optimizing our data platform on the public cloud platform Vista. You'll be responsible for establishing best practices and providing guidance to the team on effective ways of working within this modern cloud environment. Your expertise will ensure scalable, secure, and efficient data workflows that empower business insights and innovation. The team As ING advances towards its "Next Generation Digital Banking Platform", our approach to loading and publishing data on a global scale is undergoing a transformation. The Data Processing area is an innovative and collaborative team at the heart of this evolution. Within this team, Senior Data Engineers work closely with talented professionals to design and deliver cutting-edge data solutions that support ING's global ambitions. Building robust ELT pipelines and optimising data platforms in the public cloud. Enhancing organisational data accessibility, security, and reliability. Demonstrate proven experience (8+ years) in designing and building data management solutions, especially robust ELT/ETL pipelines and data warehouse architectures. Exhibit strong proficiency in SQL and comprehensive knowledge of database concepts to ensure data reliability, accessibility, and performance. Champion best practices for secure, scalable, and efficient data workflows within modern cloud environments. Embrace curiosity and adaptability, actively experimenting with emerging technologies and new approaches to drive innovation. Collaborate effectively within an agile, multicultural team, contributing to open communication and shared learning. Communicate fluently in English and hold a bachelor's degree (or higher) in an IT-related field.
