This role is ideal for someone who: Can build and enhance our WordPress & WooCommerce products Own features from development to deployment Collaborate with senior engineers on architecture decisions Contribute to products that directly impact business metrics Has worked on production-level WordPress plugins or SaaS products Takes ownership of both development and troubleshooting You will work closely with Development, Product, QA, and Customer Success teams to build, improve, and support FunnelKit's core products.
Key Responsibilities Build new features for our WordPress plugin products end-to-end Fix bugs and resolve customer-reported issues with ownership Write clean, well-documented, and testable PHP code Participate in code reviews and learn from senior engineers Debug compatibility issues across different WordPress and WooCommerce versions Collaborate with product teams to shape feature requirements Contribute to improving development processes and tooling Mentor junior developers as you grow in the role
Requirements
Working mode: Hybrid/ Remote/ On-site (open for all the modes) Experience: 2-5 years + AI mindset Education: Engineering candidates should only apply with relevant experience with WordPress and WooCommerce plugin/ product development (not theme customization) Working Days: 5 days - Monday - Friday, PHP Development: 2+ years professional experience with strong OOP fundamentals (classes, interfaces, inheritance) WordPress Development: Experience building or extending WordPress plugins, understanding of the hooks system (actions and filters) Database Skills: Working knowledge of MySQL and WordPress Database API Security Awareness: Understanding of input validation, output escaping, and prepared statements JavaScript: Comfortable with JavaScript/jQuery for frontend integration Version Control: Git proficiency with branching and merging workflows Problem Solving: Ability to debug issues across multiple codebases and environments Communication: Clear written communication, asks clarifying questions, implements feedback well
Nice-to-Have Skills WooCommerce development experience (orders, cart, checkout flows) REST API development and integration Background processing and scheduled tasks Payment integration experience Performance optimization awareness Testing practices (unit or integration tests) Candidates with hands-on experience in Agentic AI systems and working with Claude Code will be given preference.
