Here's what you can look forward to: As a Working Student (m/w/d) DevOps Engineer, you will be part of our Data & AI Platform Team at the core of MB Energy's data landscape. You'll help keep our Databricks environment running smoothly by monitoring jobs, handling compute housekeeping, managing secrets securely, and delivering small automated improvements that support our data and AI teams. In this role, you will contribute directly to a stable, cost-efficient, and reliable lakehouse platform, learning how modern data infrastructure is operated with a strong focus on reliability, cost control, and pragmatic automation. Your tasks in a nutshell:

  • Support Data Engineering Team: You resolve pipeline and platform-related issues such as environment problems, pipeline failures, and configuration errors so that data products can run reliably.
  • Monitor and Stabilize Operations: You keep an eye on dashboards, repair failed runs, adjust schedules and parameters, and send concise incident notes to keep stakeholders informed.
  • Automate and Improve: You identify and automate manual tasks to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of our Data & AI Platform.
  • Work with Modern Tooling: You use Databricks (incl. Jobs/Spark UIs), Azure Monitor/Log Analytics, Git, and MS Teams/Confluence to collaborate, document, and operate the platform.

Requirements

Do you have experience in Spark?, * Education: You are enrolled in a university program, ideally in Computer Science, Data Science, Business Informatics, or a comparable field.

  • IT Skills: You are proficient in Microsoft 365 applications (Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, etc.); first experience in SQL queries and Power BI or similar tools is a plus.
  • Languages: You are fluent in English, German knowledge is beneficial.
  • Organized & Detail-oriented: You bring strong organizational and multitasking skills with attention to detail.
  • Structured & Analytical: You work in a reliable, structured, and analytical way.
