This new position in Digital & Tech is to ensure that the Corporate functions (CGA, Corporate Secretariat, Corporate Development) have the Digital, AI and Tech capabilities they need to enable GSK to achieve its purpose of improving patient lives.
The position is responsible for driving bold Tech, Data and AI strategies for Corporate functions organizations to accelerate their digital transformation initiatives utilizing AI, digital, data and analytics capabilities across all their business processes, and into the four business units. The role will partner closely with all members of the CGA, Corporate Secretariat and Corporate Development Leadership teams to align on strategic priorities for Digital & Tech and implement those agreed performance objectives.
This role will be based in the UK so that it is close to key business stakeholders. We seek a digital transformation leader passionate about our mission, dedicated to patients and people, and committed to fostering an inclusive culture at GSK., * Strategic Leadership: This role will be a member of the CGA LT and partner closely with the SVP, SVP Global Communications and OCEO on how AI, digital, data, and technology can improve employee capabilities and engagement and influence and increase digital and data literacy across both the broader CGA and Corporate Functions organisations and GSK overall.
- Single point accountability for all things Digital & Tech: Accountable for impeccable delivery and support for all technology products and services to the GSK CGA and Corporate Functions to enable delivery of their IPTc objectives for each member of their respective LT's.
- Thought leadership, Influence and Digital Literacy: Build out new capability that are top quartile for Fortune 500 CGA and Corporate Functions.
- Agile and Software Engineering: Accountable for ensuring that all software engineering adheres to modern practices, including Agile, DevOps, and extensive AI based automation.
- Team Leadership & Stakeholder Collaboration: Lead and mentor a high-performing digital and technology team. Work closely with the Functional business leaders and Process-Aligned leaders, Tech, Privacy, Cybersecurity, Legal, and Compliance to ensure integration and regulatory compliance. Manage vendors and partners against business outcomes.
- Compliance & Governance: Accountable for ensuring all Digital & Tech products supporting GSK CGA and Corporate Functions are compliant with internal GSK security, risk management policies and practices, external regulatory and statutory requirements other local regulations applicable in the market we operate in. Ensure business continuity for all critical technology.
Key Business Processes within the scope of the role:
Communications & Government Affairs (CGA) - Key Business Processes Supported
- Corporate Communications & Content Management: Oversee digital platforms supporting corporate messaging, content creation, publishing, and channel management. This covers both internal intranet, and external GSK.com and their associated channels
- Media Intelligence & Reputation Management: Govern tools supporting media monitoring, stakeholder sentiment tracking, and reputation risk management. Use leading edge technology to support real-time insight generation, issue detection, and scenario analysis.
- Public Affairs, Policy & Advocacy Enablement: Create bold roadmap for platforms supporting policy tracking, government engagement, and advocacy activities. Leverage AI/GenAI for regulatory intelligence, stakeholder mapping, and impact analysis.
- Crisis Communications & Issues Management: Oversee digital solutions enabling crisis preparedness, response coordination, and executive communications. Apply AI/GenAI for rapid briefing, narrative testing, and risk escalation.
Office of the CEO, Corporate Secretariat & Corporate Development - Key Business Processes Supported
- Executive Governance & Decision Support (OCEO): Support platforms enabling executive planning, briefing, and decision tracking. Use AI/GenAI for insight synthesis, performance dashboards, and scenario modelling.
- Board, Entity & Corporate Governance Management (Corporate Secretariat): Govern systems supporting board operations, entity management, statutory filings, and records. Ensure that the technology and AI supporting the GSK Board is at the leading edge for how a Fortune 500 Board operates for compliance tracking, document preparation, and governance transparency.
- M&A, Partnerships & Corporate Development Enablement: Oversee platforms supporting deal pipeline management, due diligence, and integration planning. Use AI/GenAI for target screening, document analysis, and value modelling.
- Enterprise Strategy, Planning & Performance Insights: Manage tools supporting enterprise strategy development, portfolio prioritisation, and performance monitoring. Apply analytics and AI/GenAI for trend analysis, scenario planning, and executive insight generation.
Requirements
We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Information Technology, or Engineering), or equivalent experience.
- Extensive experience working in an Enterprise Technology organisation delivering services at global scale. Consulting and/ or BioPharma background is preferred.
- Experience and track record in successful Digital strategy development, solution design and execution using Digital, Data & Analytics to drive better customer engagement
- Experience driving significant transformation (capabilities and culture) using AI/Digital/Data technology
- Excellent relationship skills, strong influencing and communication skills at very senior level
- Proven experience in influencing and leading agile methods and ways of working with data and technology
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, capable of building enthusiastic support for new ideas and converting resistance to endorsement with robust collaboration with various stakeholders, leaders, and agile team(s) across the organization.
Preferred Qualifications:
If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:
- Industry Certifications in 6 Sigma (Green or Black Belt), ITIL, Agile, or Privacy are desirable but not essential.
- Master's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Information Technology, or Engineering), or equivalent experience
