A planned replacement of the central system has been paused, creating an immediate need to address significant technical debt across ageing hardware, legacy databases, and supporting applications. This role will play a pivotal part in bringing the infrastructure up to modern standards, ensuring resilience, stability, and long-term sustainability., As Infrastructure Project Manager, you will be responsible for delivering a programme of infrastructure upgrades and improvements, including:
- Modernising legacy hardware and database environments
- Addressing technical debt across infrastructure and application layers
- Improving system resilience, stability, and performance
- Ensuring infrastructure aligns with governance and regulatory requirements
- Coordinating cross-functional technical teams and third-party suppliers
- Managing risk, dependencies, and stakeholder expectations
The system supported is business-critical and central to Workforce Management operations, so maintaining service continuity while delivering change will be essential.
Requirements
We are looking for a Project Manager with strong infrastructure experience and a solid technical appreciation of:
- Hardware infrastructure upgrades and refresh programmes
- Database modernisation (legacy to supported platforms)
- Application updates and integration considerations
- Delivering stability and resilience within complex IT estates
- Working in regulated or governance-heavy environments
You will be comfortable operating at both technical and stakeholder levels, balancing strategic oversight with hands-on programme delivery.
