Job description

The IT Manager is responsible for ensuring the successful deployment and implementation of Information Technology within the assigned ABS area in accordance with established corporate policies, procedures, and guidelines. The Manage is will conduct systematic IT effectiveness assessments throughout the assigned area resulting in potential recommendations affecting key technologies, training, business processes, and organizational structures; streamlining processes, properly aligning the organization to reflect the way work gets done, and deploying proven supporting IT technologies where appropriate support includes both advice and counsel to local and IMS management with respect to the local computing environment and training.

What You Will Do:

  • Ensures compliance to the standards, policies and procedures related to IMS services and products.
  • Communicates major status of projects and state of IT Deployment and Implementation to ABS Senior Management.
  • Ensures appropriate support for users of the ABS Enterprise Network computing services located throughout the assigned area via one or various combinations of personnel from Corporate IMS, Systems Staff, local office Site Contacts, and outside contract firms.
  • Reviews results of audits, customer satisfactions surveys, customer contacts and complaints related to IMS services and products.
  • Reports findings to Management and IMS Management and ensures corrective action plans are developed for timely resolution.
  • Meets and confers with various levels of ABS management to monitor customer satisfaction with IMS services/products and to ensure that necessary system improvements and expansion projects are identified and prioritized to meet Company needs and objectives.
  • Selects and supervises staff; provides timely performance feedback to staff members, providing career development advice and counsel; ensures staff members receive necessary training to optimize their effectiveness and productivity.
  • Recommends and monitors end-user training for proper use of software and hardware as necessary.
  • Evaluates and recommends bid packages for different combinations of computer services, including the supply of hardware, software, and support services necessary to facilitate Offices' computing effectiveness.
  • Consults with management to determine information requirements of management and ABS functional areas, determine boundaries and priorities of new projects, and discuss system capacity and equipment acquisitions.
  • Confers with department heads involved with projects to ensure cooperation and further define the nature of the project.
  • Confers with IMS to define current and anticipated equipment needs, ensuring plans are developed for system upgrades based on equipment and projected growth of system utilization.
  • Provides information to facilitate strategic decisions for ABS with respect to its current and future IT structure and program integration, assisting in understanding the implications and benefits of technology solutions.
  • Actively engages with other functions to determine user and business needs.

Requirements

Do you have experience in VoIP?, Do you have a Bachelor's degree?, * Bachelor's degree or recognized equivalent, preferably in computer science or a related field, from an accredited university or equivalent industry experience.

  • Advanced degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of previous work-related experience or solid experience in IT management.
  • Prior experience with financial analysis, budgeting, and reporting for capital projects and operations expenses.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Experience managing the successful implementation of major technological shifts, the supervision of technical staff, and the strategic planning for technology.
  • Ability to collaborate, build bridges and make sound recommendations with other functional departments on the applied use of technology solutions.
  • Ability to assess organizational, administrative, and project management skills and bring solutions and concrete actions to bear in areas needing assistance.
  • Excellent project management skills and organizational skills to assess needs, organize solutions and achieve results as planned.
  • Professional competency in one or more technical areas of IT, preferably with experience in software development or business analysis.
  • Functional competency and sufficient knowledge to manage and work in an environment that includes Microsoft Applications, Microsoft Azure and Exchange Server, Oracle ERP, MS Power BI; Cisco routers and switches, VPN and VoIP, MS Teams Voice and video conferencing tools.
  • Must be an intelligent, articulate, and persuasive leader who can serve as an effective member of the senior management team and who is able to communicate strategic IT-related concepts to a broad range of technical and non-technical staff.
  • Ability to develop a working knowledge of ABS Rules, Guides, statutory regulations, and related instructions, as well as the ABS Employee Safety Policy.
  • Must hold a valid and legal right to work status in the UK.
