Job description

As a Desktop Support Analyst, you'll play a vital role in supporting the technology that enables our people to deliver critical capabilities across defence, aerospace and engineering. From resolving issues to ensuring our desktop environments run smoothly and securely, this is a role that directly contributes to operational effectiveness and helps keep essential services moving.

You'll work 37.5 hours per week, where you'll spend four days a week on site. Travel to other Babcock sites may be required. An on-call rota (1 in 4) applies once fully trained.

Day-to-day, you'll develop your technical expertise, build problem-solving capability, and make a meaningful impact every day by supporting users across multiple sites.

  • Provide second-line technical support aligned to agreed Service Levels and KPIs.
  • Maintain desktop environments to organisational standards.
  • Deliver desktop application support as required.
  • Communicate professionally and proactively with users regarding updates and resolutions.
  • Deliver excellent customer service to ensure user satisfaction across multiple sites.

This role is full time, 37.5 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with 4 days onsite and 1 day working from home.

Essential experience of the Regional Desktop Support Analyst

  • Providing second-line desktop support in a Windows 10 environment.
  • Working knowledge of ITIL processes and methodologies.
  • Configuring and supporting business mobile devices.
  • Answering support queries via phone, email and in person.
  • Resolving issues relating to PCs, laptops, printers, LAN, video conferencing and telecommunications systems.

Requirements

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) / Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
