Job description
As a Data Platform Engineer, you'll help power the digital backbone of an organisation that delivers critical capability across defence, aerospace and engineering. This is a role where your expertise will directly contribute to national security, public infrastructure and the technologies that keep people and systems safe.
Day-to-day, you'll be building, maintaining, and optimising the infrastructure that enables our teams to access trusted data driving decision-making, innovation, and future-ready solutions.
- Administer and maintain Windows and Linux servers that host our on-premise data platforms.
- Support and optimise infrastructure for data lakes, data warehouses and analytics environments.
- Configure and manage Microsoft Fabric components to enhance data integration, governance and observability.
- Administer Azure AI services used across analytics and automation workloads.
- Monitor platform health and performance, implementing improvements and automation where possible.
This role is full time, 37.5 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with days in the onsite and days working from home.
Requirements
- Proven expertise in Azure services, including Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Lake, Azure Synapse and Azure AI.
- Familiarity with data platform architectures such as data lakes, data warehouses and marketplaces.
- Experience using monitoring tools and automation frameworks.
- Understanding of networking, storage and security principles across hybrid environments.
Desirable:
- Strong experience with Windows and Linux server administration., We value difference and don't have a fixed idea when it comes to background or education, provided you can show the required level of experience and/or willingness to learn then we would like to hear from you., The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) / Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role. Must be British Nationals / Passport Holders.
