Job Title: DevOps Platform Engineer - Paying up to £75,000 + Package - 3 days a week in London
Job Description
This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to building our clients DevOps engineering capability, culture, and mindsets within the bank. You will promote technical and cultural change, accelerating learning journeys and the progressive adoption of our DevOps centre of excellence technical practices and techniques. As you build relationships with your colleagues, you will ensure that decisions are commercially focused and create long-term value for the bank.
Responsibilities
- Work with feature and platform teams to design, develop, and deploy AWS-based platforms for running customer-facing workloads at scale.
- Coach feature teams to higher levels of DevOps capability to drive continuous improvements and enhance the end customer experience.
- Demonstrate how to measure, understand, and visualise the flow and delivery of value through adopting DevOps tools, techniques, and processes.
- Provide feedback that builds on policies, standards, practices, and associated DevOps tooling.
- Ensure decisions are based on robust data, return on investment, and value measures that demonstrate thoughtful and intelligent cost management.
Essential Skills
- Expert knowledge and proficiency of AWS and Kubernetes.
- experience with ArgoCD, GitOps, Terraform, and Python development.
- Skill in building and engineering comprehensive GitLab or similar CI/CD pipelines covering the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Strong focus on automation and testing to deliver resilience and performance required to support bank-critical systems.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Skills in Backstage development and AI automation are beneficial.
- Approaching infrastructure engineering with a development and engineering mindset.
- Optimising cost and carbon efficiency throughout.
