Job description

This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to expand their skills as part of an IT dept supporting a wide variety of platforms for an award-winning media production company., You will join a team that providing technical assistance and support for user's software and hardware issues. While you will assist in providing support across the whole organisation the primary focus of the role is in supporting AI, VFX and Immersive media teams, assisting with pipeline, workflows, 2D/3D software applications, artist workstations, render management and immersive headsets., * Configure and install new artist workstations and peripherals

  • Maintain and upgrade hardware
  • Scoping for procurement options to support workflow
  • Resolve hardware errors

Render management

  • Monitor jobs and proactively optimise node usage
  • Resolve render errors and feedback to artist to improve future operation
  • Maintain Farm, perform hardware and software updates ensuring compliance and compatibility across the estate.
  • Orchestrate & extend render farm automation via ansible playbooks
  • Improve render farm capabilities via Python coding

Software and licence management

  • Manage & install software packages as required per artist per project
  • Ensure appropriate availability of artist tools and plugins
  • Manage license servers
  • Software evaluation

Requirements

Do you have a Certificate of higher education?, * Level 4 HNC Computer Studies or equivalent

  • 2-years' experience in 1st line support
  • Previous experience of support in a visual effects media production environment would be advantageous but not essential for the right candidate
  • Good knowledge of Python
  • Knowledge of ML Ops, DevOps, or desire and willingness to learn on the job

Responsibilities

  • Knowledge and experience of Active Directory with Windows desktop, server and OSX OS's
  • Administer Microsoft 365, Azure, Office365 tools and Google Workspace
  • Ability to use your initiative in problem solving
  • Setup up, configure and if necessary, fault finding for hardware and software
  • Support all stages of the AI, VFX and Immersive pipeline
  • User set up and management
  • Attention to detail and ability to create effective documentation
  • Understanding and experience of delivering good customer service with a focus on providing value.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills (in both technical and non-technical arenas) and customer-facing skills
  • Specific AI, VFX and VR workflow support tasks
