Job description

In this role, you will focus primarily on the automated validation of third-party APIs used by Telenet. Your work enables API owning teams to confidently integrate external services by providing clear, actionable insights into quality, defects, and risks.

Your tasks as our API Automation Lead As an API Automation expert in the API Validation Team, you will:

  • Design, build, and maintain automated API tests using Playwright with TypeScript
  • Validate third-party APIs on aspects such as functionality, reliability, performance, and contract compliance
  • Create clear and structured test reports that highlight defects, risks, and quality findings
  • Collaborate closely with API owning teams, enabling them to quickly act on identified issues
  • Contribute to test strategies, test frameworks, and continuous improvement of automation practices
  • Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines where applicable
  • Act as a quality advocate, promoting best practices in API testing and automation

Requirements

We are looking for someone who combines strong technical skills with a quality-driven mindset:

  • 5+ years of experience as an Automation Tester / QA Engineer, where automation testing was your key responsibility with a strong focus on API testing
  • Hands-on, day-to-day experience building and maintaining automated API tests (not limited to ad-hoc or supporting activities in another role)
  • Strong practical experience with Playwright and TypeScript
  • Solid understanding of REST APIs, HTTP protocols, authentication mechanisms, and API contracts (e.g. OpenAPI)
  • Experience with test automation concepts such as test design, reporting, and maintenance
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and version control (e.g. Git)
  • Proficient in analysis with a keen eye for details
  • Ability to communicate findings clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
