Job description
We are seeking a highly skilled engineer to join our Module Test and Diagnostics team at Nokia in Nuremberg - a center of competence for next-generation optical communication products. Your primary focus will be on the integration and validation of hardware and software components for optical communication systems. You will work closely with a talented team of engineers and researchers to ensure the successful development and deployment of cutting-edge technologies.
- Define and implement automated measurement and testing procedures for optical communication systems.
- Develop and maintain Python scripts for instrumentation, automation and data analysis.
- Supervision of AI-driven code generation and introduction of new AI tools & applications
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and implement system requirements supporting the validation.
- Validate the optical performance of our next-generation products and support requirement definition.
- Perform root cause analysis and troubleshooting for complex technical issues.
- Document and communicate technical specifications and test results.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in optical communication technologies.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Requirements
Do you have experience in Python?, Do you have a Master's degree?, * Master's degree in a technical field, such as Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
- Phd or 5+ years of experience in a similar role, preferably in the optical communication industry.
- Expertise in measurement automation, with a strong understanding of test equipment and protocols.
- Proficient in Python programming, with the ability to develop efficient and maintainable code.
- Solid knowledge of Linux operating systems and command-line tools from a user perspective.
- Experience with optical communication technologies, including DWDM, ROADM, and optical transceivers as well as optical measurement equipment.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- English (mandatory) and German fluently spoken and written
