Job description

We are seeking a pragmatic and collaborative data risk and governance professional to join our Data Risk and Governance team as part of the wider TAD+ (Technology, AI, Data and Third Parties) Risk Management Team. Our team supports PwC's client-facing and internal businesses to identify, assess, and manage risks arising across the data lifecycle (plan, collect/create, store, share, use, dispose). This enables the firm to deliver services and operate safely and in compliance with legislative, regulatory and ethical requirements. Reporting to both the Data Risk and Data Management Leads, you will play an important role in helping the business understand and mitigate data risk.

What your days will look like:

  • Drafting, updating and publishing data-related policies, guidance and standards
  • Reviewing and responding to data-related queries from business teams, and providing clear, risk-aware guidance
  • Assessing proposed data use cases and advising on compliance, ethical considerations and retention/handling requirements
  • Supporting the recruitment and development of junior team members through strong managerial and coaching skills
  • Tracking project and business-as-usual tasks and work items both in progress and in the pipeline, ensuring prioritisation and progress is documented and stakeholders remain updated

Requirements

Do you have a valid Certificate in Payroll Practice, Chartered Institute of Payroll Professionals certification?, Do you have experience in Data management?, * Qualification in data governance, data management, data protection or information security, and/or risk management (e.g. CDMP, CIPP/E, IRM Cert) preferred but not essential

  • Proven experience in a data management/data governance, risk management, governance or quality assurance related role within a regulated industry, or in a relevant data environment.
  • Understanding of the role of risk management in achieving organisational objectives while meeting legal, regulatory, ethical and compliance obligations.
  • Proven ability to manage a broad portfolio of work, facilitate discussions across diverse stakeholders, manage expectations and drive delivery.
  • Experience working in diverse teams, remotely and in person, supporting junior colleagues, fostering collaboration and demonstrating resilience, cultural awareness and a positive, 'can-do' mindset.
