Job description

We are currently recruiting for a Data Collection and Validation Officer to join our team. This hybrid-based position works two/three days from our HQ in Coventry and the remainder remotely from home.

Working as part of a specialist team, this role is responsible for collecting and quality assuring a large number of data sets on a daily, weekly and monthly basis. The data is sourced from multiple providers and is used to produce key industry figures on agricultural market information. The successful candidate must have a flair for data capture and an interest in presenting data in new and innovative ways. They will also have a keen eye for detail and excellent planning and organisational skills.

Established in 2008, AHDB is the independent, impartial public body that unlocks success in British agriculture. Funded by a levy from over 100,000 British farmers, growers and processors in the beef, lamb, pork, dairy and cereals sectors, we support and champion farmers and processors, often where no one else can or will., * Collect, format, input, cleanse, verify and quality assure data to produce key industry data sets

  • Validate data by following quality assurance processes to ensure data sets are accurate and robust
  • Present data for review in tables and graphs, and clearly communicate the results of quality assurance procedures
  • Clearly communicate with a range of internal and external stakeholders, to collect, validate and/or provide expertise on data sets, proactively developing strong working relationships
  • Disseminate finalised data sets to internal and external stakeholders and update relevant information on the AHDB website
  • Utilise the latest software available to present data in clear, concise and innovative ways for stakeholders
  • Take a proactive role in seeking, suggesting and implementing initiatives that drive process excellence, improve data quality and/or improve data sets
  • Keep up to date with appropriate industry data and technological developments to ensure data sets are accurate and relevant, * UK nationals

Requirements

Do you have experience in Presentation skills?, * Professional qualification to at least degree standard in a numerate discipline, or equivalent experience

  • Proven experience of working in a data-oriented environment and handling large data sets
  • Proven experience of working in a routine, deadline driven role, with evidence of accurately following processes
  • Experience of effectively engaging with data providers to gather accurate and timely data
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage with a range of stakeholders on data-related topics
  • High level of attention to detail and excellent planning and organising skills
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills
