Job description

Reporting to the IT Project Manager, the IT Project Coordinator will support the IT Project Manager in planning and delivering the large portfolio of projects within the business to support the strategy of an uplift in customer numbers from 4m to 7m in the next 5 years.

Primary purpose of this position is to plan and manage the delivery of IT elements (eg: infrastructure, networking, data) in line with business objectives and ongoing operations. This includes supporting the gathering of business requirements, project planning, estimating, execution, implementation and management of contractors and 3rd party supplier ensuring the projects for which they are responsible delivers as per plan and within budget.

Ideally the job holder will have experience of Project Managing Projects within an IT environment with a strong drive to deliver results. Ideally, they will have experience working within a growing, fast paced and changing environment.

Operational

  • Must have a clear understanding of an End-to-End Project Lifecycle
  • Must have small works delivery experience
  • Must have project delivery experience
  • To ensure that appropriate consultation takes place prior to and during projects to enable fully compliant management in a way that meets with the requirements of all regulatory bodies
  • Liaise with IT Technical Solutions Delivery Specialist and functional business groups to scope project requirements and ensure best practice is adopted and interdependencies are recognised/optimised, in order to enable the effective production of a project brief and fully appraised business case
  • Responsibility for ensuring all criteria is aligned for sign off at each stage of the project
  • Support any project related Testing (ST/SIT/UAT/Regression) where required
  • Control the storage and access of documented business processes relating to the project and its implementation in accordance with PMO Guidelines.
  • Ensure the smooth transition to Live.
  • Responsibility for ensuring the integrity of Project methodology is maintained.
  • Responsible for producing and maintaining Project plans via PMO chosen software.
  • To manage the procurement process of projects, including the appointment of contractors in line with company financial standing orders, whilst always obtaining best value.
  • Management of any project related Risks, Issues and Change Requests
  • Strong MS Office skills

Support the IT Project Manager in providing appropriate management controls for the overall IS portfolio, including:

  • Timescales (planning and tracking)
  • Quality (incl scope and stage gates)
  • Costs (budgets, administration and tracking for both capex & opex)
  • Resources (people)
  • Benefits (identification, tracking and realisation)
  • Risks & Issues Management (tracking and escalations)
  • Interdependency management
  • Document Control - Change control (overall management) - Stakeholder mapping

Requirements

Prince 2 or any formalised PM certification Skills Project Management (junior), * Project Coordination / Management experience

  • Experience working in a fast paced and busy environment
  • Experience of implementing changes within an operational environment where business continuity is key

Desirable:

  • Experience of operating in a private equity environment is advantageous
  • Experience of delivering infrastructure and/or networking projects
  • Experience of working in a Prince2 environment or similar - not essential but would be an advantage., * Communication - Proactive worker, able to operate at both strategic and operational levels, with good communication skills
