A well-established and growing IT reseller based in East Kilbride is seeking a confident, commercially minded Senior PHP Developer to take ownership of their web and digital platforms.
This is a key hire. You will be the lead and sole developer within the business, responsible for maintaining, improving and evolving multiple customer-facing websites and associated systems. You will work directly with senior leadership and department heads, so strong communication skills and the ability to translate technical concepts into practical business solutions are essential.
The Role
- Own and evolve multiple PHP-based customer-facing websites
- Develop new functionality and enhancements across the platform
- Maintain performance, reliability and security across all environments
- Build and integrate RESTful APIs
- Work directly with the CEO and senior stakeholders to shape digital strategy
- Support and improve integration with internal ERP and related systems
This is a hands-on role requiring technical depth, commercial awareness and the confidence to operate independently.
Requirements
Do you have experience in XML?, * 5+ years' commercial web development experience
- Strong PHP expertise (ideally Laravel)
- Solid OOP principles and clean, maintainable coding standards
- Strong SQL (MySQL or MSSQL)
- Experience integrating XML/JSON APIs
- Confident working across both front and back end (HTML, CSS/SCSS, JavaScript)
- Comfortable working independently as the primary developer
- Strong communication skills - able to engage directly with senior stakeholders
Desirable
- Laravel or Symfony
- Vue.js or modern JS frameworks
- Experience with ERP or eCommerce platforms
- DevOps exposure (Git, CI/CD, deployment environments)
