Job description
Programme-level technical leader with deep mobile expertise and strong consulting capability, accountable for the end-to-end success of mobile solutions across a client engagement. The Mobile Solution Architect operates across multiple teams and domains - defining enterprise-wide mobile architectural principles, governing technical direction, and ensuring coherence across delivery streams. The mobile specialism (Flutter-first with native iOS/Android integration) remains central, but the scope expands to other technology domains (Cloud/AWS, APIs, Integrations, Microservices/SOA), programme-level strategy, cross-team governance, senior stakeholder advisory, and leadership of engineering capability - improving practices, raising quality and reliability, increasing delivery effectiveness, reducing long-term risk, and ultimately making product teams stronger.
You earn trust at senior and executive level. You shape technical strategy early, connect architecture decisions to business outcomes and commercial reality, and communicate trade-offs plainly to audiences ranging from delivery teams to client leadership. You don't just advise on what to build but influence how the programme operates, how teams coordinate, and how technical risk is managed holistically. Your credibility comes from a track record of delivery with demonstrable outcomes on complex, multi-team mobile programmes, not theory.
As a strategic leader, you anticipate problems before they surface. You connect the dots across teams, domains, and dependencies ensuring that decisions made in one area don't create risk in another. You lead technical responses for new business opportunities, shape engagement strategy, and balance the needs of the programme with the capacity and capability of the teams delivering it.
Role responsibilities :
- Guiding teams back to the problem space before jumping into solutions, ensuring solutions are viable, relevant, and thought through.
- Proactively influences and guides how we make decisions, the principles and practices we adopt, how we identify and manage complexity, risk, technical change management, and dependencies.
- Facilitating collaboration and ensuring alignment with business goals.
- Balancing long-term architectural vision with immediate delivery needs, ensuring sustainable solutions.
- Engaging with developers, product teams, and business stakeholders to promote architectural clarity and adoption.
- Mentoring developers, fostering technical excellence, and good practices across the team., * Defines and governs enterprise-wide mobile architectural principles across the programme, ensuring coherence and consistency across multiple delivery teams and solution components.
- Shapes the programme-level technology strategy for mobile including platform choices, integration patterns, cross-cutting concerns (authentication, analytics, CI/CD, release management) and ensures alignment with broader client enterprise architecture.
- Leads cross-team architectural governance, ensuring decisions are made at the right level, dependencies are visible, and teams are not creating conflicting or duplicated approaches.
- Provides authoritative consultancy to senior client stakeholders on mobile strategy, platform investment, and technical roadmap, connecting architecture to business value and commercial outcomes.
- Manages programme-level technical risk. Identifies systemic risks across teams, ensures NFR strategies (performance, scalability, security, accessibility) are coherent and validated at programme scale.
- Leads technical responses for new business opportunities including scoping, estimating, and articulating the mobile architecture approach for bids and growth.
- Acts as the escalation point for complex cross-cutting technical decisions that span teams or domains, driving resolution with clear reasoning and documented trade-offs.
Nice to have qualifications
- Operates with broad autonomy and self-initiated work aligned to programme objectives. Defines what needs to happen, not just how.
- Influences the formation and execution of engagement strategy, including staffing, delivery model, and ways of working across teams.
- Communicates complex technical concepts with credibility and impact to senior and executive audiences, translating architecture into business language.
- Leads collaboration across diverse stakeholders with competing objectives - product, delivery, security, operations, vendors, and client leadership - building alignment and unblocking progress.
- Drives improvement initiatives with programme-wide impact, providing proactive ownership over architecture governance, delivery effectiveness, reliability, reuse, and platform health.
- Develops technical leadership capability in others, builds succession, and fosters communities of practice.
