Job description
To take ownership of bug fixing and incremental improvements across an existing Ruby on Rails platform, ensuring issues are resolved efficiently and the application remains stable, secure, and production-ready as customer demand increases., Investigate, diagnose, and resolve bugs within a live Ruby on Rails codebase Deliver small enhancements and refinements to improve platform reliability Work closely with the technical lead to prioritise and deploy fixes Support internal teams where platform issues affect customer delivery Contribute to improving documentation, structure, and overall code quality, Technical discussion with Head of Tech Final conversation focused on delivery approach and cultural fit

UK-based candidates only Must be comfortable working within a security-conscious environment This role is focused on bug fixing and platform reliability rather than new feature ownership
Requirements
Commercial experience working with Ruby on Rails Strong debugging and troubleshooting capability Experience working within an existing production codebase UK-based with ability to attend initial on-site onboarding in Birmingham

Experience within SaaS or cyber security environments Familiarity with Linux environments Exposure to virtualised infrastructure or cloud-based hosting Experience working in small, fast-moving engineering teams, Successfully resolve smaller bugs independently Demonstrate clear communication with the technical lead 60 Days
